I am not happy if I am not in the middle of studying something. I work in a facility that does not reimburse me for my education, and after adding everything up for taxes I discovered that I spent almost $7000 on seminars, CE’s, symposiums, etc. last year. Kinda shocked, but definitely money well spent to further my knowledge as an emergency nurse. And one heck of a tax write-off.

Shortly after completion of the LPN program I became an EMT followed by becoming an AHA Instructor, EMT Instructor. A few years later I returned to college to obtain my Associate’s Degree in Nursing which was then followed by obtaining my BSN and MSN. My commitment to enhancing my formal education has continued over the years by attending conferences locally and nationally at least twice a year. In fact my dedication to learning has led me to my current position of teaching in a LPN program. Which I love.
Scrubs magazine and inspirations are wonderful resources that I refer to when teaching and share articles with the students as they are going through their educational process. I look forward to receiving the electronic version of scrubs material.
