How do we keep the privacy when we have family members and patients who are insistant upon standing at the nurses' station: where we give report, make calls to the Doc, give report to the Docs and they dictate?

While I understand the need for HIPAA laws to protect privacy it is getting ridiculous and hard to do our jobs when we can't even write patient's names on the main white board at our nurse's station any more. It makes it harder to keep track of who's who!
