As a nurse, being clean and tidy is not just about feeling confident in your appearance, but a must in combating the spread of germs and disease. One study in the Annals of Emergency Medicine found that nurses in the emergency department only washed their hands 58.2 percent of the time when it was deemed necessary.   1. I work at an ASC who still provides clean scrubs for all employee and doctors for surgery. I know they feel it’s worth it.

    Double weekends on a wound team makes me wish I could wash my scrubs during my shift! Thank the lord I have isolation gowns!
