June 6, 1912: The National Organization of Public Health Nurses (NOPHN) was founded.
June 9, 1861: Dorothea Dix was appointed Superintendent of the Female Nurses for the Union Army.
June 11, 1970: Anna Mae Hays, Chief of the Army Nurse Corps, was the first woman to be promoted to Brigadier General.
June 17, 1952: NOPHN dissolved.
