White House asks nurses to educate on reform

According to nurse.com, the White House and nursing organizations are asking nurses to stay abreast of health care reform issues to help educate patients. The White House has recognized that nurses’ opinions are trusted by the American public, and thus they are hoping nurses will be a source of fact-based information for patients who have questions about reform.

“Dispelling the myths is one of the places that nursing leaders can play one of their most important roles,” says Mary K. Wakefield, RN, PhD, FAAN, head of the Health Resources and Services Administration. (nurse.com)
