Autumn Ferringer, LPN, WCC, was charged to improve overall skin and wound care among residents in the Wesbury United Methodist Community’s skilled nursing facility in Meadville, Penn. A wound care coordinator, Autumn created a team comprised of therapists, a dietician and dedicated LPNs from each of the nursing units to perform in-depth skin assessments and treatments. Her efforts dramatically improved residents’ skin and wound care. Autumn expands her knowledge of wounds by reading journals at night and shares new information with her team.
