Comment of the week: The secret to getting a job

Stockbyte | Thinkstock

I totally agree with this article. When I was in nursing school, many of my classmates got jobs as CNAs, techs or student externs. I didn’t. I wanted to focus on doing well in school. When graduation came and it was time to look for a job, those who were hired first were those who already had jobs in the medical field. It took me months to get a job. I wish I would have looked when I was still in school!

This is me….most of my classmates got jobs where they either did their preceptorship or where they worked prior. I’m still looking….I guess I’m too picky too as I can’t work night shift and I prefer not to work in the nursing homes. New nurses are graduating soon so I’ll have even more competition for jobs ;(
