As part of the Nurses Travel Network, Nurse Practitioner Katie Duke hosted a group of 20 nurses for an exclusive retreat in Phuket, Thailand.
A travel community especially for women in the healthcare professions, the Nurse Travel Network offers nurses the opportunity to make meaningful connections while enjoying world-class pampering along with mental, spiritual and professional development.
The retreat took place in November, 2019, at an oceanview villa in iconic Phuket, one of the world’s most beautiful beach destinations. The nurses enjoyed a guided tour of a farmer’s market and cooking class, an elegant dinner at the Black Ginger restaurant, and a workshop designed to provide tangible and fun ways to advance their nursing careers.
Though it was an opportunity to get away from their work lives, all the nurses were presented with a special surprise to take home — complimentary Katie Duke Collection scrubs, courtesy of sponsor Cherokee Uniforms.
“We have made some amazing memories this week, stepped out of our comfort zones, shared stories, and inspired each other, and for that I am so thankful!” posted Katie about the trip.
“We come from so many backgrounds, ethnicities, shapes, sizes, cities, nursing specialties, and walks of life, and we are here to empower each other!”
