Psych nurse advises stressed fellow nurses

It’s official (at least, according to the Chicago Sun-Times): The ideal de-stress technique for a nurse is meditation. It has an immediate effect and can be done almost anywhere.

Christine Daniel, a behavioral health liaison nurse with Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL, recommends daily meditation for the following benefits:

  • Relief from stress
  • Relief from depression
  • Feeling refreshed
  • Better attitude
  • Break from over-stimulation from work and social media
  • Reduced anxiety
  • Depression prevention
  • Lower blood pressure
  • Relief from headaches
  • Relief from gastrointestinal issues
