For us nurses, the stakes are often high at work, our decisions sometimes come down to life or death. Nobody wants to make mistakes in these situations — but we’re all human. Sooner or later, a day will come along when something’s going to happen and you won’t be able to get it just right.

The ability to learn from those mistakes and move on is such an important part of the job. The clear head that comes with moving forward helps keep you in top mental shape for future patients who need your focus and attention. It’s something to always strive for. In the meantime — a great nurse is one who always tries their best and has the wisdom to celebrate the millions of things you do right every day.
