“We have to speak up”: Nurses unite against bullying in the workplace


Nursing is a career filled with strong, compassionate and courageous men and women. But that doesn’t mean nurses are immune to bullying, and it certainly doesn’t mean a nurse can’t behave like a bully, either. We’ve all heard the old adage that “nurses eat their young.” Unfortunately, it’s become fairly commonplace for a reason.
Why is why, in the words of Katie Duke, “It’s time to put our feet down” and quash all this negativity, both within and outside of the workplace.

This year, in honor of Bullying Awareness Week, our Nurseonalities are lending their own voices to the cause, inviting you to do the same in the most recent episode of ScrubsBeat—because change begins with a unified front.
